Magnitude 5.4 earthquake strikes off Davao Occidental

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake was recorded off the shore of Davao Occidental on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

The tectonic quake occurred at 10:22 a.m.

Its epicenter was located at 02.17°N, 126.75°E - 388 km S 22° east of Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani in Davao Occidental.

The quake had a depth of 64 km.

PHIVOLCS said no damage is expected but aftershocks may occur. —KG, GMA News
