No cyclone signals from Ambo seen in next 48 hours, says PAGASA

Philippine state weather bureau PAGASA on Sunday afternoon said Tropical Depression Ambo is unlikely to cause hoisting of wind signals over any area in  the country within the next 48 hours. 

In its 5 p.m. severe weather bulletin, PAGASA said Ambo was last estimated to be 545 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur moving west-northwest at 15 kilometers per hour (kph).

Ambo brings maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kph and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

PAGASA said the cyclone will bring scattered light to moderate with isolated heavy rains during thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Maguindanao.

PAGASA said Ambo will be 460 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Sur by Monday afternoon.

By Tuesday afternoon, it will be 305 kilometers East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

By Wednesday afternoon, it will move to 325 kilometers East of Legazpi City, Albay.

By Thursday afternoon, it will be 85 kilometers northwest of Virac, Catanduanes or 90 km East of Daet, Camarines Norte.

By Friday afternoon, it is expected to be in the vicinity of Quirino, Ilocos Sur. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LBG, GMA News
