Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco recovers from COVID-19

Miss Earth 2017 titleholder Karen Ibasco has announced that she has finally recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a vlog she posted on Tuesday, the beauty queen revealed that she and her family unfortunately contracted the virus.

“To be honest we don’t know where we got it kasi ’di naman kami masyado lumalabas ng bahay,” Karen said. “So most probably nakuha namin from deliveries.”

In an Instagram post, the beauty queen shared that after three weeks, her body was still recovering but she was slowly getting her strength back. 

At first, it was only one family member who got sick, Karen said.

“May unang nagkasakit sa bahay tapos halos paisa-isa nagkasakit na sa loob ng bahay,” she said.

Aside from giving her viewers tips on recovery, as well as possible hospitals to get swab tests from, the beauty queen also reminded people the importance of contact tracing.

“It’s also good to inform who you were with, who you mingled with, before you knew you had COVID-19,” Karen said. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
