Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin named Cinemadvocates at Film Ambassadors Night 2021

Dingdong Dantes and Angel Locsin were named Cinemadvocates at the 5th Film Ambassadors’ Night (FAN) on Sunday.

Dingdong was recognized for building the League of Filipino Actors (AKTOR), which has criticized the passing of the Anti-Terrorism Bill, the ABS-CBN shut-down, and film production guidelines crafted by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

“I consider po itong trabaho na ito and of course, His blessings, as an opportunity to reach out to others and help in transforming their ways,” he said in a video message.

He earned a place out of six Cinemadvocates for his “exemplary humanitarian work and commitment in supporting the livelihood of displaced film and audiovisual workers during these challenging times, and sharing his talent and influence for the good of the many.”

Angel, meanwhile, was awarded for being an inspiration to the film industry and for giving “profound credence to all actors who share their talent and influence for the good of the many.”

“Sana po ay magsilbing inspirasyon po ito sa lahat ng mga nasa industriya na magpasalamat sa mga tao. Maraming salamat po sa inyo,” she said in a video message.

Joining them in the Cinemadvocate list are Pangasinan 4th District Rep. Christopher De Venecia, NCCA Chairman and CCP President Arsenio Lizaso, Lockdown Cinema Club and Inter-Guild Alliance.

Dingdong was also recognized for being the Asian Star Prize recipient for “Descendants of the Sun” at the Seoul International Drama Awards and is also among the television honorees who made it to the FAN 2021 Actors list.

FAN is an annual event spearheaded by the FDCP which recognizes Filipino filmmakers, actors and movies whose international victories have brought honor to the country.

Given the ongoing pandemic, this is the first time that FAN held the awarding online. See full list of winners here. — Franchesca Viernes/BM, GMA News
