Michael V. to direct 'Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy ang Kwento'

Michael V. has a new role in "Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy ang Kwento!"

In Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," Friday, the Kapuso comedy genius said he will be the director of the show's third book.

Bitoy will take the reins from previous director Bert de Leon, who worked on the show's first two books.

"Nung nawala siya, nung nagpaalam siya, parang wala kaming choice eh. Hindi namin maatim na palitan si Direk," he said.

"Kaya minabuti na lang namin na in the meantime, ako muna 'yung mag-helm nung directorial job."

("When he said goodbye, it's like we did not have a choice. We did not want to replace him. So we decided that in the meantime, I will helm the directorial job.")

Bitoy said "Pepito Manaloto" is very personal to him. He also shared that previous guests will have cameos again in the show.

The cast has already started taping in what seems to be a provincial setting.

"Ang dapat abangan dito eh bakit itinuloy 'yung kuwento," he said. "Dito n'yo malalaman kung ano 'yung pinagdaanan nila at kung ano 'yung patutunguhan nila."

"Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy ang Kwento" will air on GMA's Saturday Primetime starting June 11.
