Rabiya Mateo reveals what she learned from ‘TiktoClock’ co-hosts Kuya Kim, Pokwang

Although she has already made a name for herself in the pageant industry as Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Rabiya Mateo admits that she’s still a showbiz newcomer.

As a first-time host and new Kapuso star, she is grateful for all that she is learning from Kuya Kim Atienza and Pokwang, her TiktoClock Tropa.

Given that the news personality and comedienne are considered legends in their craft, Rabiya said the most important lessons she learned from them went beyond hosting—it’s all about the work ethics needed to last in the entertainment industry.

“You may have the fame now, all the attention, pero isang pagkakamali mo lang, pwede mawala iyan lahat. Ayun iyong sinasabi ni Kuya Kim,” Rabiya told GMA News Online during the “TiktoClock” media conference.

Now that rumors can easily spread on social media, Rabiya said it’s important to treat people respectfully no matter what.

“Kailangan mo talaga mag-ingat. Lahat dapat pakisamahan mo, dapat palagi kang on time,” she added.

Another important learning for Rabiya is to be present and appreciate every moment.

“You need to be careful [with] your actions kasi hindi mo minsan alam kung ano iyong mangyayari in the future. Dapat i-enjoy mo what you have and always be grateful for you to last here in this industry,” she said.

On the other hand, Rabiya is also grateful for Pokwang’s motherly instinct to help her out.

“Kasi ako po, mag-isa lang ako dito [sa Manila,] independent. Walang family, wala si mama. So parang nakita ko po iyong pamilya ko sa show na ito.”
