Atom Araullo named Journalist of the Year by Esquire Philippines

Atom Araullo has been named Journalist of the Year by Esquire Philippines.

The Kapuso reporter was given the title by the magazine’s Man at his Best Awards, which celebrates the lives and work of men and women in various industries who are reshaping society.

 



“Atom Araullo is one of the most well-known journalists in the country, recognized for showing up at the worst disasters and natural calamities to tell the stories that Filipinos need told,” Esquire said on Instagram.

Atom has bagged multiple awards this year. He is one of the finalists of the 2022 Online Journalism Awards for a topical reporting story on Hidilyn Diaz, and “The Atom Araullo Specials” is the only Filipino nominee at the 4th Asia Contents Awards for the episode “Munting Bisig.”

Munting Bisig” also won the silver award at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards.

Additionally, Atom won the prestigious Palanca Award this year for his essay, "Letter from Tawi-Tawi."

Other Man at his Best awardees include Alden Richards, Eraserheads, EJ Obiena, Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Cezar Consing, Soliman Cruz, and Quark Henares. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
