Letitia Wright shares heartbreaking eulogy for on-screen brother Chadwick Boseman

Letitia Wright, who played Shuri and sister to Black Panther, has shared a heartbreaking eulogy for her on-screen brother Chadwick Boseman.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Letitia shared a touching video filled with clips of nature and snapshots of her time with Chadwick.

As the video played out, Letitia could be heard narrating her eulogy with melancholic piano music playing in the background.

“No words can describe how I feel, how we all feel, that losing you is forced upon us, to accept this as a new reality,” she said.

She described Chadwick as her brother, an angel, a “soul so beautiful” that there was calm in the room when he walked in.

He “always moved with grace and ease,” and every time she saw him, the world felt like a better place, she said.

“I wish I got to say goodbye ... I didn’t know you were dealing with so much but against all odds you remained focused on fulfilling your purpose with the time handed to you.”

The actress shared that on the day she first met him, she was told that Chadwick was going to be her brother.

Her voice breaking, Letitia added, “that I am to love you as such and I always did and I always will.”

She expressed how broken her heart was as she searched for old messages and memories of him and how she thought they had more chances of laughter and time together.

“I thought we had more time and many more years to come,” she said. “I thought this would be forever.”

Now that he’s gone, Letitia said all they’re left with was to help the “seeds” he planted on Earth to “grow, to blossom, to become even more beautiful.”

Aside from Letitia, Angela Bassett, the actress who played Black Panther’s mother, and other Marvel costars expressed their grief over Chadwick’s passing.

Chadwick died Aug. 29 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Although he was diagnosed in 2016 with Stage 3 colon cancer that gradually progressed to Stage 4, it didn’t stop him from joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Panther in the same year.

He went on to star in his own blockbuster Marvel film 2 years later.

The “Black Panther” star also joined “Avengers: Infinity War” in 2018 and “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.
