SOPHIE, grammy-nominated artist, dies at 34

Grammy-nominated musician Sophie Xeon, known as SOPHIE, has died. She was 34 years old.

The announcement was shared by the musician’s record label Transgressive on Saturday.

"Tragically our beautiful Sophie passed away this morning after a terrible accident. True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and slipped and fell,” the statement on Twitter read.

“She will always be here with us. The family thank everyone for their love and support and request privacy at this devastating time,” it continued.

According to a CNN report, SOPHIE died at home in Athens, Greece at 4am.

SOPHIE was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Dance/Electronic Album” for her debut album “Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides” which was released in 2018. — Frachensca Viernes/LA, GMA News
