SHINee’s Onew, GOT7’s Youngjae, DAY6’s Wonpil to star on ‘Midnight Sun’ musical

SHINee’s Onew, GOT7’s Youngjae and DAY6’s Wonpil will star as Haram on an upcoming musical titled “Midnight Sun.”

The announcement was made by production company SHINSWAVE on Tuesday.

According to the tweet, the K-Pop idols have been cast to play Haram, a “boy as dazzling as the midday sun.”

The character’s female partner Haena, meanwhile, will be played by Lovelyz’s Kei, Kang Hye-in, and Lee Ah-jin.

According to a Soompi report, “Midnight Sun” is a “romance musical about Haram and Haena who meet and sing the brightest song of the sun.”

It will run from May 1 to July 25 at Gwanglim Arts Center BBCH Hall in Seoul and will be available for streaming in 52 countries.

Also known as “The Sun’s Song,” the musical started as a Hong Kong film which was later adapted into a drama. It was first staged in Korea in 2010 at Sejong Center. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
