Seo Ye Ji in talks to star in new drama

Seo Ye Ji is in talks to star in an upcoming drama!

According to a Soompi report on Tuesday, the actress was offered the lead role on tvN's new series "Eve's Scandal."

A source from tvN said they had given the script to the actress and they were waiting for her response. The broadcast network is behind the dramas "Crash Landing On You," "Start-Up" and "It's Okay Not to Be Okay," among other shows.

Seo Ye Ji's agency, meanwhile, confirmed that the actress was reviewing the offer.

"Eve's Scandal," written by Yoon Young Mi, is a melodrama that revolves around a $1.7-billion divorce lawsuit that has shocked the entire nation.

Seo Ye Ji was reportedly offered to play Lee Ra El, a woman who had a genius father and a beautiful mother.

After going through a family tragedy, she becomes a "fatal charm" likened to a "dangerous flower." She later on becomes the woman at the center of the expensive divorce lawsuit.

Reports also shared that Park Byung Eun was offered a lead role alongside Seo Ye Ji.

He was offered to play a CEO of a leading corporate group in the financial world.

Seo Ye Ji, who gained international fame through the hit series "It's Okay To Not Be Okay," was caught in a controversy in April.

It was reported that the actress allegedly controlled the behavior of her then boyfriend, "Crash Landing On You" actor Kim Jung Hyun, when he worked on the 2018 drama "Time." Both actors have since released statements on the issue.

Since the controversy, Seo Ye Ji has not made any public appearance. In May, she withdrew from her drama series "Island." Her latest project, the film "Recalled," was released early this year. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
