Taylor Swift to receive honorary doctorate from New York University

Taylor Swift is set to receive an honorary degree from the New York University.

The prestigious school just announced that the pop star is among those to be honored at the commencement ceremony this May 18 at the Yankee Stadium.

According to a statement

from the university, Taylor will receive a Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa, and will make a speech in front of the students and guests.

NYU described Taylor as "one of the most prolific and celebrated artists of her generation."

An 11-time Grammy winner, Taylor has been making waves since her first studio album "Taylor Swift" in 2006.

She has a series of accolades under her belt, including most awarded artist ever in American Music Awards’ history and Billboard’s first-ever and only two-time winner of the Woman of the Decade Award.

Among her biggest hits are "All Too Well," "Blank Space," "Look What You Made Me Do," and "Style." —JCB, GMA News
