Alfrancis Chua addresses Aldin Ayo's rumored transfer to Letran: 'Not under my umbrella'

Colegio de San Juan de Letran sports consultant Alfrancis Chua quashed rumors of University of Santo Tomas (UST) head coach Aldin Ayo returning to Intramuros.

Letran Knights head coach Bonnie Tan was the first to address talks of Ayo transferring back to Letran amid government probe into the "Sorsogon bubble."

"May kulang ata sa tweet, nakikipag swap ng position lang naman," said Tan, posting a screenshot of a report in his Facebook account.

Chua, the special assistant to the Letran rector for sports development, commented on the post.

"Baka sa ibang Letran papunta coach nila. Iisa lang Letran ang alam ko at ang coach dun si Bonnie Tan," he said.

"Not under my umbrella no way!" Chua added in capital letters.

Ayo handled the Knights in 2015 and won the championship in the National Collegiate Athletic Association finals against perennial champions San Beda.

He then transferred to De La Salle University and won the UAAP title against Ateneo de Manila University. He stayed until 2017, bringing the Taft-based squad to another finals stint.

Ayo moved again in 2018, this time to the University of Santo Tomas. In 2019, he led the Growling Tigers to the finals, but they ended up as runners-up to the Blue Eagles.

The UST head coach is now under fire for allegedly conducting a training camp in Sorsogon despite the community quarantine. â€”Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
