By JUSTIN KENNETH CARANDANG,GMA News

San Miguel Beer is back on the winning column after defeating Terrafirma Dyip, 105-98, in the PBA Philippine Cup elimination round on Monday.

SMB had the upper hand for the majority of the game, leading by as many as 14, 69-55, early in the third period after a Marcio Lassiter trey.

Terrafirma trimmed their deficit to as close as eight, 104-96, at the 1:30 mark of the fourth period with a Roosevelt Adams triple, but time was not on the Dyip's side.

The victory was San Miguel's first since they beat Magnolia on opening day back in March.

Mo Tautaa led the Beermen with 25 points and six boards, while Arwind Santos registered a double-double performance with 20 markers and 14 rebounds.

CJ Perez paced Dyip with 20 points, while Rashawn McCarthy and Juami Tiongson added 15 and 11 markers, respectively.

SMB now stands at 2-2 and will face Alaska on Saturday. Before that match, Terrafirma, with a 0-3 record, will face NorthPort.
