CJ Perez 'thankful' for time with Terrafirma after getting traded to San Miguel Beer

CJ Perez wrote a short message of gratitude to Terrafirma Dyip after getting traded to San Miguel Beer.

On Instagram, Tuesday, Perez thanked the team which picked him no. 1 overall in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft.

"My professional career started with you. I couldn't be more thankful for the last two years," he said.

"The friendship I made with everyone—utility, coaching staff, and definitely my teammates. Thank you Coach John and Boss Bobby for believing in me. I appreciate your trust," he added.

Perez also said that despite the Dyip's performance, he will always remember his time suiting up for the franchise.

"Although we came up short, our battles were always pure with blood and sweat."

Perez was shipped to San Miguel Beer in exchange for Matt Ganuelas Rosser, Gelo Alolino, Russel Escoto, and SMB's first round picks for the 2020 and 2022 PBA Draft.

The deal was approved by the PBA on Tuesday.

In his stint with Terrafirma, Perez bagged the 2019 Rookie of the Year award and was nominated as Best Player of the Conference in the 2020 season.

Last season, Perez posted an average of 24.36 points and 6.82 rebounds. The Dyip had a dismal 1-10 record at the end of the elimination round. â€”Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
