CJ Perez notches PBA scoring title for second straight season

CJ Perez is once again the PBA scoring champion after his performance in the Philippine Cup held in the Clark bubble last year.

The 27-year-old guard bagged the title for the second straight season as the main engine of the Terrafirma Dyip, averaging 24.4 points per game.

He was recently traded to the San Miguel Beer in exchange for Matt Ganuelas Rosser, Gelo Alolino, Russel Escoto, and SMB's first round picks for the 2020 and 2022 PBA Draft.

Meanwhile, the PBA also announced the All-Rookie Team led by Meralco Bolts' Aaron Black

, who was named Outstanding Rookie.

Arvin Tolentino of Barangay Ginebra, Terrafirma's Roosevelt Adams, Barkley Ebona of Alaska, and Renzo Subido of NorthPort complete the selection of top rookies.

The PBA Press Corps virtual Awards Night will be held on March 7.

Other awardees include Ginebra's Stanley Pringle, who was hailed as the Best Player of the Conference.

Teammate Japeth Aguilar, TNT's JP Erram, and Phoenix wings Matthew Wright and Calvin Abueva join him in the Elite Five.

Ginebra's Scottie Thompson also won the Sportsmanship Award while teammate Prince Caperal was named Most Improved Player.

Other awards to be handed out include Outstanding Coach of the Bubble, Mr. Executive, President's Award, Top Bubble D-Fender, All Bubble D-Fenders, Mr. Quality Minutes, and Game of the Bubble.
