VisMin Super Cup postpones Thursday's matches pending probe of controversial game

The management of the VisMin Super Cup decided to postpone its games Thursday pending the resolution on issues surrounding the game between Lapu-Lapu City and Siquijor played on Wednesday.

"League secretary-general Chelito Caro and the technical team of the league have deemed to postpone the day's scheduled affairs as it is still in the process of resolving the controversial game that happened last Wednesday," the league said in a statement.

Included in the postponed games are KCS Computer Specialist-Mandaue and Tabogon Voyagers, MJAS Zenith-Talisay versus Siquijor and Tubigon Bohol against Dumaguete.

However, VisMin Super Cup said the other games will return on Friday.

The league also said an announcement will be made by league chief operating officer Rocky Chan by noon time.

On Wednesday, the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) started its probe on the said game. GAB chair Abraham Mitra reminded players, coaches, and officials as well to "Shape up or ship out!"

VisMin Super Cup postponed the Lapu-Lapu-Siquijor game at halftime due to a power interruption. Hours after the game was postponed, clips from the match surfaced online, mostly showing players missing open layups and free throws. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/JMB, GMA News
