The Shinshu Brave Warriors defeated Kiefer Ravena and his Shiga Lakestars team, 90-80, in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League) on Sunday.

This was the sixth straight defeat for skidding Shiga, which started the season 6-2 before the losing streak.

Shinshu banked on an explosive third period to defeat the Lakestars, who had the upper hand at the end of the first half, 45-34. The Brave Warriors scored 34 points against just 12 on the other end to take the lead, 68-57, at the end of the third period.

The 11-point advantage was enough to give the Brave Warriors a cushion heading to the win despite Shiga's efforts in the fourth period.

Yudai Okada led Shinshu with 27 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Matthew Aquino, a Filipino player listed as a local on Shinshu's roster, did not see action in the game.

Ravena, meanwhile, was limited to just seven points in 23 minutes of action while teammate Novar Gadson led Shiga with 22.

The Brave Warriors will see action on December 4 against Utsonomiya Brex.

In another Division 1 game, Niigata Albirex BB lost to the Chiba Jets, 88-83, to extend their own losing streak to 11 games despite a strong showing from their Asian import, Kobe Paras.

Paras had 15 points, four assists, and three boards in the losing effort. His teammate Rosco Allen led Niigata with 26 markers and nine boards.

Christopher Smith had 21 points for the Chiba win.

Niigata dropped down to 2-12 in the win-loss column.

Niigata will have a long break, returning to action against Sun Rockers Shibuya on December 11.
