Grieving Robi Nayve steers CSB past Perpetual; San Sebastian keeps San Beda winless in Filoil

Robi Nayve caught fire on offense to steer College of Saint Benilde to a bounce back win as they routed University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, 91-78, in the FIlOil EcoOil 15th Preseason Cup on Friday.

Nayve dedicated his game to his late grandfather who died yesterday as he poured 26 points on six triples to go along with seven rebounds and six assists as CSB recovered from a 117-61 loss to UP last Wednesday.

With the win, CSB went 2-2 in Group A while Perpetual dropped to 1-3.

"He's (Nayve) mourning a family member so he dedicated that game to him," said CSB head Charles Tiu.

Nayve shared: "Tina-try ko talaga na i-keep within myself lang 'yung nararamdaman ko ngayon, focus lang namin talaga ngayon is Perpetual since sila 'yung nagbigay sa amin ng Final Four exit last season."

"I was so saddened kahapon nung nalaman ko 'yung balita, he was asking me sana to do shoutout for him," the guard added.

James Kwekuteye picked up the scoring cudgels for the Red Lions as he unleashed 17 points in the loss that sank them to a 0-3 hole in Group B.
