Standhardinger, Hollis-Jefferson lead PBA BPC, Best Import race

Barangay Ginebra big man Christian Standhardinger and TNT reinforcement Rondae Hollis-Jefferson have emerged as the leaders for Best Player of the Conference and Best Import awards, respectively, in the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup.

The 6-foot-8 Standhardinger currently leads the locals with 42.8 statistical points built on 22.9 points per game alongside 10.2 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 0.2 blocks as Ginebra finished the elimination round with an 8-3 card.

Standhardinger also dropped 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists in the Gin Kings' 127-93 win over NLEX in their quarterfinal clash to set up a semifinals date with San Miguel.

Behind the Ginebra center are Beermen's CJ Perez at second spot with 39.3 SPs while June Mar Fajardo (37.6), Calvin Oftana (36.1), and RR Pogoy (35.8) come in third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

Meanwhile, Hollis-Jefferson leads all imports with a 59.0 SPs anchored on 31.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 2.4 steals, and 1.0 blocks after towing the Tropang Giga to a top seed finish in the elimination round with a 10-1 slate.

TNT will face Phoenix Super LPG in the quarterfinals on Wednesday with the Tropang Giga enjoying a twice-to-beat bonus.
