San Beda wins by 49 against AMA; Reyson drops 36 as Letran barges into the win column

Marinerong Pilipino-San Beda clinched at least a playoff berth after dismantling AMA Online Education, 119-70, on Thursday in the PBA D-League at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Seven Red Lions scored in double digits with James Payosing leading the pack with 17 points. Damie Cuntapay and Gavril Tagala posted 13 points each while Clifford Jopia registered a double-double of 12 points and 12 boards.

The win improved their standings to 4-1. The Mendiola-based squad will book an outright semis slot should they win their next game against Centro Escolar University.

Meanwhile, Wangs@27 Basketball Strikers-Letran escaped the PSP Gymers, 100-92, to barge into the win column.

Kurt Reyson waxed hot with five triples and never missed any of his 15 free throws to post a game-high 36 points on top of eight assists and four rebounds. Kobe Monje, meanwhile, had 23 points, with Neil Guarino chipping in 11 points.

D-League action will return on Tuesday, May 23, with Letran facing AMA and University of Perpetual Help going against CEU.
