Pinoy boxer Jeo Santisima stopped in world title bid

By JM SIASAT

Reigning WBO world super bantamweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete made a successful fifth title defense following an eleventh-round technical knockout over Jeo Santisima at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The titleholder from Mexico controlled the tempo of the fight for the entire duration of their scheduled twelve-round contest.

The Mexican kept Santisima at bay with his crisp jabs and clubbing punches that mostly found its spot on the Filipino.

Santisima seemingly fought to survive all night while throwing a hail mary here and there. His best moment came in round 4 where he landed a left hook that actually failed to make Navarrete blink at the very least.

A barrage of unanswered punches from Navarrete prompted the referee to halt the mismatch at the 2:20 mark of round 11. The win improved Navarrete's record to 31-1 with 27 knockouts while Santisima dropped to 19-3 with 16 knockouts. — LA, GMA News
