The champion Navarrete used his power and his speed to break down the tough Santisima and stopped him in the 11th round. With the victory, Navarrete has now successfully defended his WBO Super Bantamweight title for the fifth time in nine months. After the fight, Navarrete stated “I hit him weirdly with my right hand and hurt my thumb, but I had to plow through it and get the victory. The Mexican kept Santisima at bay with his crisp jabs and clubbing punches that mostly found its spot on the Filipino.

Santisima seemingly fought to survive all night while throwing a hail mary here and there. His best moment came in round 4 where he landed a left hook that actually failed to make Navarrete blink at the very least.

A barrage of unanswered punches from Navarrete prompted the referee to halt the mismatch at the 2:20 mark of round 11. The win improved Navarrete's record to 31-1 with 27 knockouts while Santisima dropped to 19-3 with 16 knockouts. — LA, GMA News
