Conor McGregor no longer highest paid athlete, Jake Paul enters Forbes list
By JM SIASATFormer UFC two-division world champion Conor McGregor had lost his number one spot on the prestigious Forbes list of highest-paid athletes in 2022.
McGregor, 33, topped the list last year with $180 million in earnings after he sold a majority stake of Irish whisky Proper No. Twelve.
This year, he slid to no. 35 with a total of $43 million in earnings, $10 million of which came from endorsements and sponsorships.
Youtuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul, meanwhile, made it to the list with total earnings of $38 million.

The highest-paid combat sports athlete this year is Mexican superstar and undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, who currently sits at number eight.
According to the report, Alvarez made a whopping total of $90 million, $5 million of which came from off-the-field earnings.
Topping the list this year is football superstar Lionel Messi with $130 million, followed by Lebron James and Cristiano Ronaldo with $121.2 million and $115 million respectively.
