Hidilyn Diaz marks first month since winning Olympic gold

Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz is still on a high a month after winning the Philippines' first-ever Olympic gold medal.

Diaz on Thursday commemorated it with an expression of gratitude.

"One month na pala! (It's been a month!)" Diaz said.

"Grabe ka Lord! Thank you God sa biyaya[ng] binigay mo sa akin, sa #TeamHD, sa Family ko, at sa buong Pilipinas."

[You are amazing, Lord! Thank you God for the blessing you gave to me, #TeamHD, my family, and the whole Philippines.]

Diaz on July 26 ruled the women's weightlifting 55-kg event to give the Philippines its first gold medal since the country joined the Summer Games.

Diaz, together with boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial, bannered the Philippines' most successful Olympics campaign after finishing with a gold medal, two silvers, and one bronze.
