Blacklist remains perfect in MPL PH S8 with sweep of Bren

By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

Blacklist International stayed undefeated with a 2-0 sweep of Bren Esports in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines elimination round on Saturday.

It was the fifth consecutive win for the Tier One-backed squad that catapulted them to the top of the standings after Onic faltered earlier today.

After conceding the first blood to Bren, Blacklist slowly built their lead in Game 1 as they methodically broke down their counterparts en route to a one-sided match.

Blacklist looked like a well-oiled machine as they flaunted their comfort picks in Mathilda, Alice, and Aldous. They finished Game 1 with a 14-4 kill dominance.

With their backs against the wall, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Paquito) looked like he was on the verge of rampage posting a 9-0-0 KDA by the 8th minute as Bren gunned for a rubber match.

But Blacklist's brilliance negated KarlTzy's exploits with a 5-1 wipe in the 9th minute to turn the tables around.

The MPL PH Season 7 champs could not recover from there as Blacklist successfully stormed back from an 11-5 kill deficit to win the series. Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario (Aldous) recovered from a 1-4-5 KDA and finished with a 6-4-7 KDA to embody Blacklist's mighty fightback.

It was the fourth loss for M2 world champions in five season matches so far as they remain at the bottom of the standings.
