Bren continues resurgence with reverse sweep of TNC on MPL PH S8's penultimate week

By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

Bren Esports escaped TNC Pro Team via a reverse sweep, 2-1, to stay in the hunt for the last slot in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 8 playoffs on Saturday.

The M2 world champs are still in a precarious position with 14 points, good for 6th, with 3 matches remaining. They are 1pt behind NPXE (15pts) and just 3 pts ahead of TNC (11pts).

TNC opened the series with urgency, quickly flexing their muscles early on the way to taking a 5-1 kill lead by the 5th minute and a 2k gold lead.

They never looked back from there as they cruised to a 16th minute conquest of Bren via a 14-2 kill rampage, 1-0, led by Daniel “Chuuu” Chu's (Hayabusa) 2-0-8 KDA. Patrick “P-God” Grecia (Selena) also had a solid performance with a 4-0-5 KDA.

It was totally different in Game 2 as both teams engaged in a close early game but Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Hayabusa) looked like a man on a mission as he scored a mega kill streak by the 8th minute and was on a stellar 6-0-3 KDA.

A 4-0 exchange in the 13th minute, helped Bren force a rubber match, 1-1, as KarlTzy finished with a 9-0-6 KDA.

Bren then introduced their first-ever Sun jungler pick this season and engaged TNC into another nip-and-tuck affair until a 2-0 takedown in the 11th minute helped Bren secure the lord and establish some breathing room.

The Season 7 champs then scored a 4-1 exchange in a 16th minute lord fight, spearheaded by KarlTzy's triple kill, to take the series.
