Christopher Caluza, Michael Martinez finish 22nd, 23rd in Finlandia Trophy short program

Filipino figure skaters Christopher Caluza and Michael Martinez finished 22nd and 23rd respectively in the short program of 2021 Finlandia Trophy held early Friday (Manila time) in Finland.

Caluza had a score of 59.74 in the program, with 29.70 in technical score and 30.04 in program component score to finish 22nd of 26 competitors. Jumps included in his program are a double axel, a triple loop combo attempt, and a triple lutz.

Martinez, meanwhile, had a total score of 55.62, 25.74 for the technical score and 30.88 for the program component to finish next to Caluza. Parts of Martinez' routine include a triple lutz, and attempts on triple axel and triple flip-double toe loop combo.

The two will be back in the rink on Friday night for the free skate part of the competition.
