NXPE sustains fiery form with sweep of RSG

By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

NXP Evos solidified their grip of the solo third spot in the playoffs after scoring another sweep, this time against RSG Philippines, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 8 on Friday.

They have now secured a slot in the playoffs with 21 points going into their last regular season match.

Despite trailing in the kill tally, NXPE managed to drag RSG deep into the late game with nifty split pushes and disruptions led by Renejay “Renejay” Barcase (Benedetta).

It looked like a final blow was on the way after RSG secured the luminous lord in the 32nd minute but NXPE's defensive stand resulted in a 4-1 after Renejay flanked the marching enemy heroes.

The exchange was enough for NXPE to take Game 1 in one fell swoop. John Paul “H2wo” Salonga (Hayabusa) was the ideal image of stability as he combined with Renejay to lead NXPE, finishing with a 3-0-5 KDA.

Seemingly flaunting their newfound confidence, NXPE dictated the early game with aggressive jungle invades in Game 2, taking a slim gold lead going into midgame.

After RSG stole the turtle buff in the 8th minute, NXPE retaliated by scoring a 3-1 conversion. Another similar 3-1 takedown in the 11th minute enabled the Dogie-led squad to complete the sweep.

H2wo (Hayabusa) was once again stellar with a 10-1-1 KDA.

RSG has suffered from a third-straight sweep to remain with 16 points and in danger of elimination with one match left this season.
