Blacklist International reaches MPL Invitational semis with sweep of BTR

By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

Blacklist International swept Indonesia's Bigetron Alpha, 2-0, in dominant fashion to reach the semifinals of the Mobile Legend: Bang Bang Profesional League (MPL) Invitational 2021 on Friday.

Blacklist, recognized by most teams and analysts as the team to beat in the tournament, made a superb embodiment of their topdog tag as they displayed accuracy and discipline in their conquest of their Indonesian rivals.

With a superior early game line up in Game 1, BTR took control of the early goings but Blacklist suddenly scored a complete turn around when they picked off an out of position Great Jabran “MATT” Wiloko (Aldous) in the 13th minute that touched off a 4-0 wipe, off Edward Jay “Edward.” Dapadap's (Khaleed) double kill to take control.

Another pick off on MATT in the 24th minute resulted in a 3-1 exchange as the MPL PH back-to-back champs took Game 1, 1-0.

Kiel “OHEB” Soriano (Alice) had an almost perfect game as he only suffered his first death in the winding moments to finish with a 6-1-6 KDA.

In Game 2, the Tier One-backed squad completed a definitive 3-0 wipe in a 7th minute turtle fight that helped them take control of the match.

Another 3-0 wipe in the 15th minute helped Blacklist to complete the sweep.

Blacklist will be facing RRQ Hoshi, the team that eliminated Onic Philippines yesterday, in the semifinals.
