EJ Obiena places 6th in Stockholm Diamond League, Duplantis breaks record in outdoor pole vault

Filipino Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena on Thursday (Stockholm time) finished sixth in the Stockholm leg of the 2022 Wanda Diamond League.

Obiena cleared the 5.73 meter mark in the tournament, days after he won the gold and recorded his season best in the Taby Stavhoppsgala tournament, also in Sweden.

Mondo Duplantis claimed the top spot in the tournament as he cleared 6.16 meters, a new world record for outdoor pole vault.

American Christopher Nilsen placed second and Brazilian Thiago Braz settled for third, with both vaulters clearing the 5.93 meter mark. Norway's Pål Haugen Lillefosse and French Renaud Lavillenie placed fourth and fifth, respectively, at 5.83m.
