PVL game between Perlas and Cignal postponed

The game between Perlas and Cignal scheduled for the opening day of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2021 Open Conference on Saturday has been postponed.

In an article of the PVL website, the league said that this was a precautionary measure set by the Ilocos Norte Local Government Unit (LGU), requiring players from Perlas to yield another negative RT-PCR result before the team joins the competition.

Several members of the team, including a coach, contracted COVID-19 in late June

while conducting their training camp in Baguio.

But the PVL said that all of the members of the Perlas contingent had already tested negative prior to heading to Laoag, where the competition will be held.

The season opens on Saturday beginning with a game between Chery Tiggo and PLDT, followed by a clash between Creamline and Sta. Lucia at the PCV Socio-civic & Cultural Center – Bacarra. The Open Conference will feature 10 teams in the competition.
