Edgar Barroga named new Sta. Lucia head coach

Sta. Lucia is set to parade a new head coach when it resumes its campaign in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

The club recently made an announcement that it has tapped Edgar Barroga to take over the coaching duties previously held by Eddieson Orcullo, who was promoted from his deputy role in January 2020.

"The Sta. Lucia family would like to officially welcome Edgar Barroga as the new head coach of the Lady Realtors," the team said in a Twitter post.

"We can’t wait to see the collaboration between our new coach, our management, and the Lady Realtors!"

Barroga was part of the Cignal team when it was still competing in the Philippine Superliga (PSL). He first assumed a general manager post in 2016 before being named the head coach and successor of seasoned tactician George Pascua from 2018 to 2020.

He parted ways with the HD Spikers last year and found his way at the helm of the Unlimited Athletics Club (UAC), who ended up not seeing action in the PVL bubble.

With the Lady Realtors, Barroga will be leading a powerhouse cast bannered by Mika Reyes, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Dell Palomata, and Jonah Sabete.
