Petro Gazz a win away from PVL All-Filipino Finals after win vs PLDT

The Petro Gazz Angels moved to within a win of a finals stint in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference after taking down the PLDT High Speed Hitters, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18, on Saturday in Game 1 of the best-of-three semifinals at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Jonah Sabete led the Angels with 18 points while MJ Phillips added 17 points in the series opener. Djanel Cheng had 18 excellent sets on top of having six points.

Meanwhile, Jovie Prado led PLDT with 18 points.

Earlier, Creamline defeated F2 in the other semis bracket. Game 2 of the series will be played on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
