Several NCR mayors, district representatives proclaimed

Several local candidates in Metro Manila have been proclaimed winners by the Commission on Elections, according to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras”.

Las Piñas City

Mother and daughter Imelda and April Aguilar have regained their posts as mayor and vice mayor of Las Piñas City.

Imelda will be serving her third and last term while April will be on her second term.

Makati City

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay and running mate, incumbent Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, were also proclaimed winners on Tuesday.

“Laking pasasalamat ko kasi at least itong huling term, huling takbo ko, uneventful, walang drama. At saka unwavering yung support ng mga Makatizens. Kaya nagpapasalamat ako,” Binay said.

Binay's husband, Luis Campos, also won as representative of the city's second district.

Kid Pena was also re-elected representative of the first district.

Malabon City

Jeannie Sandoval won the mayoralty race in Malabon City after a close fight with Enzo Oreta.

Sandoval will be the first woman to occupy the top city's mayoralty.

“Una sa lahat, nais ko lang magpasalamat sa mga sumuporta. Pangako ko na hindi ko kayo bibiguin,” Sandoval said.

Ninong dela Cruz won against Jayjay Yambao in the vice mayoral race.

Reelectionist Malabon Representative Jaye Lacson-Noel won with 102,320 votes.

Marikina City

Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro and his running mate Vice Mayor Marion Andres received fresh mandates as top officials of the city.

His running mate, Marion Andres, also won another term as vice mayor.

Teodoro's wife, Maan, won the congressional race in the District 1 of Marikina with 68,572 votes.

“It’s a landslide victory. The mandate is very clear. Ibig sabihin ang challenge ay mas mataas. Malaki ang inaasahan ng mga tao,” Teodoro said.

Muntinlupa City

Muntinlupa City Representative Ruffy Biazon has been elected as the city’s mayor after getting 180,742 votes.

“Nag-reach tayo to all Muntilupenos for us to come together. Dahil itong panahon na tinitignan natin ay paghaon mula doon sa pandemya,” Biazon said.

Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac was reelected after receiving 131,882 votes.

Incumbent Mayor Jaime Fresnedi secured a seat in the House of Representatives with 183,085 votes.

Navotas City

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco was proclaimed as a representative in Congress.

His brother, John Rey Tiangco, won as the city’s mayor after obtaining 80,908 votes as compared to his rival RC Cruz who only got 44, 970 votes.

“Masayang-masaya po tayo at nagpapasalamat po tayo sa lahat ng suporta at tiwala na ibinigay sa ating mga kababayan. At siyempre magiging inspirasyon natin ito at lalong pagbubutihin pa,” John Rey said.

Parañaque City

Parañaque Representative Eric Olivarez won the mayoral race and will replace his brother Mayor Edwin Olivarez who, in turn, was elected congressman of the city's first district.

Olivarez garnered a total of 174,816 votes.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa aking mga kababayan sa aming lungsod dito sa  Parañaque dahil po sa suporta at sa tiwalang binigay niyo po sa amin. Utang ko po sa kanila ang aming pagkapanalo,” Olivarez said.

Joan Villafuerte won the vice mayoral race with 102,560 votes.

Pasig City

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto was proclaimed winner of the mayoralty race.

Sotto garnered 335,851 votes over his rival incumbent Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo's 45,604 votes.

In an interview, Sotto said he wished his rival peace of mind.

“Kung ano ang maging reaksyon ng isang tao, ng isang kandidato, sa resulta that’s the reflection of the person’s character,” he said.

“Magkaisa tayo hindi para sa pulitika, hindi para sa isang tao o partido, kundi kung ano ang mas makakabuti para sa buong lungsod,” he added.

Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo was elected to another term.

Sotto’s running mate Dodot Jaworski won the vice mayoral race with 205,250 votes.

Pateros City

Pateros Mayor Miguel "Ike" Ponce III was elected to his third and final term.

Ponce garnered 28,534 votes while his rival Marilyn Chiong had 2,777 votes.

“Tayo ay natutuwa dahil ito ay panibagong pagkakataon para maituwid natin yung mga naabalang proyekto dahil sa COVID-19,” Ponce said.

San Juan City

Francis Zamora was re-elected as the mayor of San Juan City after getting 66,883 votes.

Warren Villa was also proclaimed as vice mayor with 55,920 votes while his closest opponent Philip Cezar got 16,608 votes.

Atty. Bel Zamora, meanwhile, was elected as the representative of San Juan’s lone legislative district with 49,334 votes.

“Kami ay nagpapasalamat sa mahal naming San Juaneno. Na-sweep po natin ang eleksyon. Lahat ng labinglimang kandidato natin ay nanalo at ang ibig sabihin nito ang tiwala po ng lungsod ng San Juan ay nasa atin,” Zamora said.

Valenzuela City

Deputy Speaker Wes Gatchalian will be the city's next mayor after getting 275,650 votes.

He will replace his brother Rex who was proclaimed first district representative with 141,794 votes.

Second district Representative Eric Martinez retained his post with 132,241 votes as did Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja with 257,530.

Quezon City

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has been proclaimed the winner of the mayoralty elections on Tuesday night.

Belmonte obtained 645,580 votes as compared to her opponent Anakalusugan Party-list Representative Mike Defensor who only got 407,506.

She will serve her second term as the mayor of Quezon City.

Belmonte's running mate Gian Sotto was also re-elected as vice mayor after beating his opponent, Councilor Winnie Castelo.
