LRT1 temporarily stops operation from Baclaran to Balintawak due to nearby fire

The Light Rail Transit-Line 1 (LRT1) on Tuesday morning temporarily suspended its operation due to a fire incident near Vito Cruz Station, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said.

In a tweet, the LRMC said the operation was stopped as of 9:03 a.m.

“A stop for safety has been put in place from Baclaran to Balintawak. Our Operations team is currently monitoring a fire incident near Vito Cruz Station. Please allow additional travel time of about 15 minutes,” it said.

In an update at 9:15 a.m., the LRMC said all 19 stations of LRT1 are back in operation.

Based on a report from the Bureau of Fire Protection, a fire incident was reported in a commercial and residential area on Rafael Alunan Street in Manila. It reached first alarm level at 8:55 a.m.
