For families that prefer to spend the long weekend by staying at home, Team Bahay, or those who opt to go on an out of town trip, Team Biyahe, are invited to consider some suggestions to keep the home safe and to save energy, according to a report on "Saksi."

Meralco, the private sector electric distribution utility company, has a list of tips for clients that may help avoid fire and conserve electricity during the celebration of Holy Week.

• Make sure all appliances are turned off and unplugged
• The refrigerator can be kept on for those going on short trips.
