Lacson ‘1,000%’ sure Duterte not referring to him as cocaine user

Presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo Lacson on Friday said he is certain that President Rodrigo Duterte was not referring to him when the latter mentioned that a presidential bet is using cocaine.

"I am 1,000% sure PRRD was not referring to me," Lacson said in a text message.

Duterte earlier claimed that one of the presidential aspirants in next year's elections is a cocaine user who has yet to accomplish anything. He did not name the said candidate.

Other presidential bets, Senators Christopher "Bong" Go and Manny Pacquiao said they are willing to undergo drug tests following Duterte's remark.

For her part, Vice President Leni Robredo said she favors surprise drug tests for candidates, adding that Duterte should file a case against the candidate if he has evidence.

The camp of former senator and presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., meanwhile, brushed off the claims of Duterte, saying that they have high respect for the President.—LDF, GMA News
