Filipinos affected by Odette rise to 4,883,084 —NDRRMC

A total of 4,883,084 individuals or 1,243,635 families have been affected by Typhoon Odette, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday.

In its latest situational report, the NDRRMC said the death toll remained at 407, with 76 confirmed and the remaining 331 still for validation.

From the previous 82 people, 78 were reported missing, while those reported injured remained at 1,147.

A total of 338,305 displaced persons or 85,802 displaced families in 6,813 barangays remained at 1,457 evacuation centers.

Meanwhile, 64,598 displaced persons or 18,500 displaced families remained outside evacuation centers.

Affected regions were MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, Region 7, Region 8, Region 9, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, CARAGA and BARMM.

Eight roads and one bridge in Region 7 remained impassable, and one road remained impassable in Region 10.

The NDRRMC reported that a total of 284 cities or municipalities experienced power interruption or outage, of which 208 cities or municipalities have already had their power restored.

A total of 18 cities or municipalities experienced water supply interruption or outage, of which, water supply in one city or municipality was already restored.

According to the NDRRMC, there are 121 areas in MIMAROPA, Region 7, Region 8, Region 9, Region 10, CARAGA, BARMM which are still experiencing communication outage or issues.

Of the total seven airports reported to be non-operational, five have already resumed operations in MIMAROPA and in Region 10.

A total of 25 domestic flights were cancelled, of which, 16 domestic flights have already resumed.

A total of 129 ports were reported non-operational or have suspended trips, of which, 79 ports resumed operations in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, Region 7, Region 9, Region 10 and CARAGA.

A total of 343 passengers, 143 rolling cargoes remained stranded in MIMAROPA, Region 6, Region 8, Region 9, Region 10, CARAGA.

A total of 598,151 damaged houses were reported in MIMAROPA, Region 6, Region 7, Region 8, Region 9, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, CARAGA and BARMM.

Damages to agriculture were at an estimated P7,686,026,544.93 incurred in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, Region 7, Region 8, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, CARAGA.

Damages to infrastructure were at an estimated P17,071,414,030.97 incurred in MIMAROPA, Region 7, Region 8, Region 10, Region 12, CARAGA and BARMM.

Classes and work were suspended in 370 and 306 regions, respectively. — BM, GMA News
