Leody de Guzman gives Duterte a 3 for COVID-19 response

Presidential aspirant Leody de Guzman on Wednesday gave the Duterte administration a rating of 3 out of 10 for its COVID-19 pandemic response.

De Guzman said President Rodrigo Duterte made light of the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning.

"Gusto ko sanang sabihing palpak pero puwede na siguro 'yong 3 ang grado ng pangulo dahil sabit 'yong approach eh," de Guzman said in an interview on dzRH.

"Una, parang pinagtatawanan lang. Sabi niya iihian niya lang, mamamatay na 'tong COVID na 'to... Tapos nagulantang, imbis na medical workers and i-mobilize, militar ang pinaharap kaya puro lockdown," he added.

De Guzman said Duterte's approach with the pandemic was not scientific.

"Dapat massive contact tracing, mass testing, mabilis na vaccination sa ating mamamayan, pagtatayo ng facilities para sa isolation... Dapat ganoon eh," he said.

De Guzman added that Duterte should have better controlled the prices of goods in the midst of the health crisis. —NB, GMA News
