Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday expressed confidence that she will win the presidential elections in May, saying she is a true leader who shows up and never lets the people down.

"True leadership is stepping up and showing up, may election man o wala, kandidato man o hindi. Ipinakita ko ito sa tapat na serbisyo," Robredo said during the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas Presidential Candidates Forum.

"In 2022, the last man standing will still be a woman," she added, reminiscent of her 2016 pronouncement that the last man standing in the vice presidential race is a woman since she was the lone female candidate for the said post then.

Robredo said while she is often identified as weak because she is a woman, she has never backed down from tough times.

"Ni minsan, wala akong inaatrasang hamon. Marawi siege, ilegal na droga, volcanic eruption, lindol, COVID-19...tumugon kami kung saan kailangan ng tulong," she said, referring to the Office of the Vice President's anti-poverty program in these areas and her short stint as co-chairperson of Inter Agency Council Against Illegal Drugs.

"Ang uri ng pamahahala na inihahain ko ay tapat, mahusay, masipag. Hindi kayo lolokohin, hindi kayo nanakawan, hindi iiwan ang taumbayan. Handang handa ako sa hamon na maging pangulo," she added.
