The National Capital Region (NCR) is now classified as “low risk” for COVID-19 transmission as the situation in the region continues to improve, according to independent monitoring group OCTA Research on Wednesday.

In a tweet, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said the reproduction number in the NCR decreased to 0.25.

The reproduction number refers to the number of people infected by one case. A reproduction number below 1 indicates that the transmission of the virus is slowing down.
