PNP discourages PDA on Valentine's Day amid COVID-19

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday advised the public to avoid public display of affection — or PDA — on Valentine’s Day amid the threat of COVID-19.

In a statement, the PNP’s public information office reminded the public to be cautious and consider safety as they celebrate the occasion.

“Iwasan din po ang mga Public Display of Affection so we can set a good example to others, lalo na ngayon that part of the protocol is to wear face masks,” the PNP said.

The police organization also warned the public against crimes like theft and robbery on Valentine’s Day.

“Mag-ingat din po sa mga [Let’s be cautious also against] criminal elements lurking in areas where people can come together. Let’s avoid being victims of theft, robbery and other forms of criminality,” it said.

“Ngayong Araw ng mga Puso [This Valentine’s Day], let us show that love to our fellow countrymen by contributing towards a healthy and safe living,” it added. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
