Camarines Norte lawmaker Panotes passes away

Camarines Norte Representative Marisol Panotes passed away on Friday.

Rosemarie Conejos Panotes, Panotes' daughter, announced her mother's death on Facebook but did not provide details.

In a statement, House Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez expressed condolences to the Panotes family.

“We are saddened by the news on the untimely death of our colleague from the second district of Camarines Norte, Rep. Marisol Conejos Panotes,” Romualdez said.

“We condole with her family, relatives and friends at this difficult time.”

Panotes was an active member of the majority and was the vice chairperson of the House Committees on Disaster Resilience and on Population and Family Relations.

Panotes was also a member of 14 other big committees, including those on Foreign Relations, Basic Education and Culture, Higher and Technical Education, Banks and Financial Intermediaries, and Bicol Recovery and Development. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
