Comelec bares which party-list groups will be proclaimed

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has made public the 55 party-list groups that will be proclaimed winners in the May 9 national and local elections.

The winning groups will be proclaimed

on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 4 p.m. at the Philippine International Convention Center where the canvassing of votes was conducted, the Comelec said.

The groups are:

3. Tingog
4. 4PS
5. Ako Bicol
6. Sagip
7. Ang Probinsyano
8. Uswag Ilonggo
9. Tutok to Win
10. CIBAC
11. Senior Citizens PL
12. Duterte Youth

14. Kabataan
15. Angat
16. Marino
17. Ako Bisaya
18. Probinsyano Ako
19. LPGMA
20. API
21. Gabriela
22. CWS
23. Agri

Party-list law

The law provides that a party-list group that gets at least 2% of the total number of votes cast in the party-list race will be entitled to at least one seat in the House of Representatives.

Those who exceed the 2% threshold will be entitled to additional seats proportionate to the number of votes cast, but the total number of seats for each winning party-list group cannot exceed three.

Those who do not meet the 2% requirement may still be able to secure a seat in the House as the law also requires that 20% of House members come from the party-list ranks.—LDF, GMA News
