576 new COVID-19 cases logged, active tally climbs to 7,192

The Philippines logged 576 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday while the number of active cases rose to 7,192, the highest since late April.

According to the latest data released by the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, the nationwide total is now at 3,702,319, while the active case tally is the highest it has been since April 29, when there were 8,389 active cases. 

The number of recoveries is tallied at 3,634,596, while the country’s death toll rose by 13 to 60,531.

The regions with the most new cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region with 4,078, followed by Calabarzon with 1,448, Western Visayas with 717, Central Luzon with 552, and Central Visayas with 400.

The country’s bed occupancy rate is at 17.8%, while at least 5,251 beds were occupied, and 24,275 were vacant as of Sunday, June 26.

At least 18,595 individuals were tested, with 328 testing laboratories submitted data as of June 27. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
