BI arrests American pedophile wanted in US

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has nabbed an American fugitive wanted in the United States (US) for allegedly preying on victims who are minors.

Operatives from the BI fugitive search unit (FSU) apprehended the suspect identified as Tye Braxton Stiger along Diego Cera Avenue in Las Piñas City on Saturday, August 13.

BI officer-in-charge Commissioner Rogelio Gevero Jr. said an order for Stiger’s arrest was released after US authorities informed the immigration agency of his alleged criminal offenses.

According to the BI, records showed the 35-year-old suspect has an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by the City of Jonesville, Hillsdale County, Michigan last month for 35 counts of child pornography-related charges in violation of Michigan Compiled Laws.

Stiger was said to have volunteered as a Sunday school teacher in church communities in Michigan, where he was alleged to have committed sex offenses against minors for six years.

He was reportedly charged with multiple counts of sexually abusive activity and possession of child sexually abusive material, among other offenses. Over a dozen videos of him placing hidden cameras at various locations to record minor children were said to have been seized by authorities.

“Arresting foreign criminals has always been a priority of our agency, and getting another predator off our streets means we are protecting our children from harm,” said Gevero.

The BI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) have expressed commitment to prioritize the deportation of alien sex offenders.
