No reported deaths, injuries due to Henry, so far —NDRRMC

There were no reported casualties or injuries as of Saturday morning amid continued heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Henry, the latest report of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) shows.

In its situation report as of 8 a.m., September 3, 2022, the NDRRMC reported zero confirmed, for validation, and total reported dead, injured, and missing.

Only one family with five members was pre-emptively evacuated.

Only one incident of erosion was reported in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Meanwhile, a total of five roads have remained impassable, while eight are now passable, which were previously reported as not passable and/or one passable.

A total of zero passengers, rolling cargoes, vessels, and six motor bancas are currently stranded in Region 2.

A total of six cities or municipalities experienced power outage, all of which already restored.

A total of 23 classes and work schedules were canceled in Region 1 (13 classes and one work schedules), Region 2 (eight classes and seven work schedules), and CAR (two class schedules).

In its 5 a.m. severe weather bulletin, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is still hoisted over Batanes. 

Areas under tropical wind signals will experience isolated to scattered flooding, floods and rain-induced landslides are possible especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps, and in localities with significant antecedent rainfall.

TCWS No. 1 is still hoisted over Babuyan Islands and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana).

In the next 24 hours, the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by this typhoon Henry will also bring monsoon rains over the western section of Luzon.

Henry entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as a super typhoon but weakened into typhoon level early Friday morning. —LBG, GMA News
