2,691 new COVID-19 cases push active tally to 32,323

The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported 2,691 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the country’s caseload to 3,934,778.
 
This was the third straight day of more than 2,000 COVID-19 cases recorded.

 
Active cases jumped to 32,323 from 30,056 on Friday.

According to the department, the National Capital Region (NCR) had the highest number of cases in the past two weeks, with 13,202 infections.
 
The NCR was followed by Calabarzon with 4,738 cases, Central Luzon with 2,627, Davao Region with 1,248, and Western Visayas with 842.
 
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery tally rose to 3,839,696, while the death toll climbed to 62,759.
 
As of Friday, the national bed occupancy rate was 26%, with 7,425 beds occupied and 21,130 vacant.
 
A total of 17,964 individuals were tested for the coronavirus on Friday, while 335 testing laboratories submitted data.  — VBL, GMA News
