Nearly P82M worth of infra damage reported due to Abra quake — NDRRMC

Damage to infrastructure worth P81,980,750 has been reported after the P6.4 magnitude earthquake in Abra on October 25, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday.

In its report, the NDRRMC said 223 infrastructures were affected.

A total of P59,062,750 worth of damage has been reported in Cordillera, P21,150,000 in Ilocos, and P1,768,000 in Cagayan.

At least 85 people were reported injured due to the earthquake.

A total of 147,378 individuals or 44,447 families were affected by the earthquake in 334 barangays in Ilocos, Cagayan, and Cordillera.

Of the total number, 68 individuals or 20 families were staying in three evacuation centers, while 579 people or 229 families were taking shelter in other places.

A total of 4,684 houses were damaged—4,670 partially and 14 totally.

Seven incidents of landslides and one rockslide were reported in Cordillera. An incident of liquefaction was also reported in Ilocos.

A bridge in Ilocos remained not passable to motorists.

Six domestic flights were canceled in Ilocos due to the earthquake.

A total of 94 classes and 86 work schedules were suspended due to the threat of the effects of the earthquake.

According to the NDRRMC, a total of P353,011.92 worth of assistance has been provided to earthquake victims.

PHIVOLCS said the epicenter of the earthquake, which struck at 10:59 p.m. on Tuesday, was located seven kilometers northwest of Lagayan, Abra.
